Yes you have to communicate with your ex...it is a necessary evil. Whether it be to hammer things out through the break up, you run into each other accidently (key word is ACCIDENTLY... DO NOT I repeat DO NOT become a stalker) or at some holiday event or some other manufactured reason to have to speak....
Before you can communicate with your ex, you may have to start building your own life back up though. How can you do that? Start meeting some new people. The ones that aren't going to remind you of what you have just left. The ones you don't have your ex in common with.... you know... the ones that will know you for you.
Kind of like instructions for sales cold calling ....
